国内男子ツアー「コカ・コーラ東海クラシック」が愛知県の三好カントリー倶楽部を舞台に開幕。
ホストプロの石川遼はINコースの前半を2オーバーで折り返すと、後半もパットが安定せず一時は4オーバーにスコアを落とす。そのままズルズル悪い流れに突入してしまうかと思われた7番で2メートルのバーディパットを沈めると、ようやく調子が上向きに。続く8番、9番もバーディとし、結局1オーバーで初日を終えた。
