Wanting to write an article for this newsletter, thought I would write more on the idea of the fundamental swing, rather than the quick fix idea that I sometimes do. I want to pass this on as it can effect everyone.
Most golfers use far too much effort to get little results and I would like to see you reverse this and get the best results with minimal effort.
Time and again when I am at the range I look down at the practice tee and see people hitting bucket after bucket of balls with poor posture and off balance backswing, poor impact position, etc. Every time I think “why don't these people buy 'someones' swing video and use it.” Many of them already own good instructional videos, but only watch them once, then go practice the wrong or poor technique. This doesn't make sense to me.
If they would just watch the Body Golf Full Swing DVD (more than once) and practice in front of the TV and a mirror, it would pay much greater dividends than pounding balls at the driving range.
And speaking of driving, there is a way to increase your distance, both off the tee and otherwise. There are a lot of things you can do to hit it farther.
The first is keeping your hands relaxed, rather than tight. And this is much easier to do if the grips on your clubs are in good condition. It is ever easy to overlook the importance of this aspect of your clubs. Many of us that want more distance on the ball have old, worn out, slippery grips on our clubs- which almost guarantees that our hands will be too tight.
Make sure your grips are either new, clean, tacky and textured in some way. If you have rubber grips and they aren't very old, you can usually rejuvenate them with warm water, a dish detergent, comet, or even some light sand paper. If they are beyond this, go ahead and have new grips installed before the season starts. This is a must. You must have a relaxed grip to hit the ball farther.
A very simple way to get more distance on the ball.
